To take a measurement:

Place a sample on reflectance port, with the face to be measured

contacting and covering the port. Back the sample with a consistent

material, if necessary, and select the appropriate keys for taking

measurements. Backing is only required for non-opaque samples.

WARNING

Extended operation with the Sensor not in the upright

position will cause permanent damage to the electronics.

3.3.4 Gloss Measurements

Gloss measurements are performed in a similar manner to standard

reflectance measurements. Note the difference in the procedure

listed below.

To take a measurement:

Place a sample on reflectance port with the glossy surface to be

measured contacting and covering the port (no backing is

required for opaque samples).
