Buchholz Indentation Tester

Instrument Description

1. Indentation Tool

2. Upper eyepiece to adjust the sharpness of the scale

3. Lower object lens to focus on the surface

4. Illumination

• Place the indentation tester carefully on the surface

for 30 sec.

How to perform the Buchholz

Indentation?

• Mark the position of the instrument pins before lifting it up and

without touching the instrument

How to ﬁnd the indentation mark?

• Place the plastic guide over the marked position (see picture)

1 line marking = 0.05 mm

Example: 36 lines = 1.8 mm
